Ben Hans is a musician and music instructor in the greater Milwaukee area. As well as keeping a busy performance schedule throughout the Upper Midwest, Ben teaches Percussion, Music Business, Music Appreciation, and Rock Music History at the Milwaukee Area Technical College as well as more than fifty private music students.  In addition to leading his own jazz trio, Ben performs as a freelance artist and has performed with the following: Chuck Hedges, Jack Grassel, Barry Harris, Jeff Schroedl, the Steve Peplin Ensemble, Berkeley Fudge, Tom McGirr, Hal Miller, Roger Brotherhood, Michael Arnold, Mark Solveson, Eric Morones, Curt Hanrahan, James Dallas, Aaron Gardner, John Price, Dan Schneck, Kirk Tatnall, Swing Nouveau, Swingset Police, Pavanne and many more fine musicians.  An active member of the Percussive Arts Society, Ben holds an Associates Degree in Music from the Milwaukee Area Technical College, and a Bachelors of Fine Arts Music Degree from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. Ben is an adjudicator and charter member of the I.A.T.D. (International Association of Traditional Drummers, certificate #129) examined by drumming legend John S. Pratt. Ben is also an author for the Hal Leonard Publishing Corporation and has written three books, “Workin’ Drums: 50 Solos for Drumset”, “40 Intermediate Snare Drum Solos” and “Rudimental Solos for the Marching Snare Drummer”. Ben endorses Istanbul Agop Handmade Turkish cymbals and is a member of the Vic Firth Education Team.
